International flight to Moscow. On arrival transfer to 3* Melody Hotel located within walking distance to the Red Square and the Kremlin. Dinner & overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast at your hotel, you will have a guided tour of the Kremlin and one of its Cathedrals. Situated in the very centre of Moscow, the Kremlin walls and towers, golden-domed cathedrals and ancient palaces stand high on the Borovitskiy Hill above the Moskva River forming a magnificent architectural ensemble and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Kremlin has been the official residence of the President of the Russian Federation since 1991. Dinner in town and overnight at Melody Hotel.

Overland transfer to Sergiev Posad (70 km). Guided visits to the Troitse-Sergiev (St.Sergius) Monastery. Founded in the 14th century by St. Sergius Radonezhsky, one of the most revered saints of the Russian Orthodox Church, for many centuries the monastery has been Russia’s largest religious and cultural centre. It is also known for unique frescoes painted by the genius Russian icon painter Andrew Rublev and his teacher Daniil Cherny. The icon of the Holy Trinity by Andrew Rublev, one of the most inspired masterpieces ever created by a human being, is now kept in Tretyakov Art Gallery in Moscow. Lunch at a local restaurant.

Leave for Yaroslavl with stops enroute in Rostov and Pereslavl for city tours. An ancient capital dated back to the 9th century, Rostov has been destroyed several times by the Mongol hordes, but came back to life persistently, thus remaining one of the most beautiful cities of medieval Russia. Pereslavl is the home town of Prince Alexander Nevsky, the most able general, politician and diplomat of ancient Russia; and Peter the Great, the first Russian Emperor who has built his “poteshny”(amusing) flotilla, the prototype of Russia’s first navy. Arrival in Yaroslavl for check in at Jubilejnaja hotel. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight at Jubilegnaja Hotel.

Lying on the bank of the Volga river Yaroslavl is a city of great history and rich cultural traditions. A UNESCO World Heritage site, it is known for its many outstanding architectural monuments. The city is also known as the birthplace of many Russian celebrities. Today you will enjoy Yaroslavl sightseeing which includes The Transfiguration Cathedral of the Saviour and The Monastery of Our Lady of Tolg. Lunch during visits. Departure for Kostroma and check in at Snegurochka hotel on arrival.

Founded in 1152 by the Prince of Rostov and Suzdal Yuri Dolgoruky, after a short period of rapid growth (16-17th centuries), Kostroma lost its commercial significance but still played a noticeable role in the national history. Kostroma sightseeing includes the Ipatiev monastery complex with its famous Trinity Cathedral and Chamber of the Romanov boyars. After lunch, head for charming Suzdal town. With a population of only 12,000, this town nevertheless is one of the country’s most popular areas, a real pearl of the Golden Ring. It was the capital of its own principality in the first half of the 14th century. Nowadays this ancient little town, frozen in time looks like a picture from a Russian fairytale, untouched by the modern era, with a skyline shaped by many bright-coloured domes of churches and monasteries. Check in at Pushkarskaja Sloboda hotel. Dinner in town & overnight at hotel.

Drive to Vladimir for a whole day tour of the city’s highlights including the Assumption Cathedral. After lunch, drive to Bogolyubovo for the Church of the Intercession on the river Nerl. Though rather small and modestly decorated, it is one of the most beautiful Russian churches, possibly due to its fantastic location. Return to Suzdal for dinner & overnight.

Suzdal sightseeing includes the Kremlin, the Transfiguration Cathedral, Spaso-Yevfimiev monastery of the Saviour, the monastery of the Protecting Veil of the Mother of God. Lunch during visits. Afternoon visit to the Cathedral of Nativity of Mother of God. Leave Suzdal for Moscow. On arrival check in at Melody hotel. Enjoy a leisurely walk in the Red Square before dinner in town.

visit asia - tours to asiaDAY 08 MOSCOW / ST PETERSBURG (B/L/D)
After breakfast, guided visits to Tretyakov State Art Gallery followed by Novodevichy Convent (New Convent of the Virgin). In due time, transfer to the station for overnight train to St. Petersburg.

Morning arrival in St.Petersburg. Transfer to 3* Moskva Hotel. After breakfast, St Petersburg sightseeing including Peter and Paul Fortress and Catherine’s Palace in Pushkin. St Petersburg was established by Peter the Great in 1703 to be the capital of the Russian Empire as part of his Western-looking reforms. The city was called Petrograd during World War I and Leningrad after 1924. In 1991, as the result of a city referendum, it was renamed St. Petersburg. Under the tsars, the city was Russia's cultural, intellectual, commercial, financial, and industrial centre. Dinner in town and overnight at Moksva Hotel.

Today is reserved for the visits to the Hermitage Museum and Saint Isaac’s Cathedral, one of the most impressive landmarks of the Russian Imperial capital.

Transfer to the airport for flight home.
