A 15 day fully inclusive & escorted Mongolia tour exploring Genghis Khan fabled city, experiencing nomadic life while enjoying the incredible and unique Eagle festival which takes place in the beginning of Otober.

Price includes : internal flights, all transfers by private car in cities and 4WD in desert mountain areas, local English speaking guides, all meals ( except on days at leisure ), admission fees, accommodation at a 4 star hotel in Ulaanbaatar and ger camps in other places, horse camel ride, porterage.

Accommodation in ger camps is on multiple occupancy basis (3 or 4 people sharing a ger).
Twin occupancy can be arranged (subject to availability) with a surcharge of £195 per person.

DAY 01 Fly from London Heathrow to Ulanbataar via Frankfurt or Beijing.

DAY 02 ULAANBAATAR (-/-/-)
On arrival transfer to Kempinski Hotel Khan Palace hotel (4* hotel in city centre). Rest of the the day is at leisure. 

visit asia - tours to asia DAY 03 ULAANBATAAR / HUSTAI (B/L/D)
Ulaanbaatar guided tour including Gandan Monastery (largest Buddhist monastery in Mongolia), National History Museum, Chinggis Khan Monument, Winter Palace of Bogd Khan Museum. Afternoon drive to Hustai National Park. Just 100 km away from the capital is the nest of the Mongolian Przewalski horses which can be seen roaming wild in this beautiful national park. Overnight in Ger camp.

DAY 04 HUSTAI / KHARAKORUM (B/L/D) visit asia - tours to asia
Car transfer to Kharakorum, Chinggis Khan’s fabled city and ancient capital of the great Mongol Empire. Visit the magnificent Erdene Zuu monastery with its 108 stupas, once the centre of Buddhism in Mongolia and Tibet, now the second largest Buddhist monastery in Mongolia. Overnight in Ger camp.

DAY 05 KHARAKORUM / TAIKHAR STONE (B/L/D)
Drive back to the mysterious Taikhar stone famous for its unique shape and the inscriptions on the stone in many different languages. En route stop at Tsetserleg town for the most beautiful temple Museum of Mongolia, the Zaya Bandid Gegeen Temple. Drive back to Kharakorum for dinner and overnight at ger camp.

After breakfast drive back to Ulaanbaataar. Lunch en route. Evening at leisure in Ulaanbaatar. Overnight at Kempinski Palace.

DAY 07 ULAANBAATAR / OLGII (B/L/D)
After breakfast fly to Mongolia’s Western-most province Bayan Olgii , home to Kazakh people who have brought with them their rich cultural heritage, music, handicrafts and the traditional Hunting with Golden Eagles. On arrival at Olgii, the provincial capital, visit the local museum which provides an insight into the diverse ethnic groups in the region. Then visit the local Mosque and market. Overnight stay with an Eagle trainer’s family.

DAY 08 OLGII (B/L/D)
visit asia - tours to asia Today watch the Eagle trainers at work, witness the special relationship between the trainer and their bird of prey, which is often considered a family member. Join the hunters on their hunting trips, and watch them pampering their birds. Overnight stay with a nomadic Kazakh family to learn more about their culture and traditions.

visit asia - tours to asia DAY 09+10+11 THE GOLDEN EAGLE FESTIVAL (B/L/D)
Eagle trainers will gather to show their skills and their eagle’s abilities. The festival will begin with the hunters displaying their traditional Kazakh dress and their eagle's equipment and ornaments. This is an exciting and authentic event which not only features eagle hunters' competitions, but also other Kazakh traditional games such as Kokbar ( goat carcass polo ), Kazak archery, etc... Prizes are given for the best traditional dress & the eagle's gear and ornaments and the eagles themselves will be marked according to their speed and agility. During the festival, folklore performances will take place adding even more cheerfulness to an already fantastic atmosphere. Overnights in Ger camps.

DAY 12 OLGII / KHOVD (B/L/D) visit asia - tours to asia
Overland transfer to Khovd, the biggest city in Western Mongolia (population approx 35,000) at the foot of the Mongolia Altai Mountains and in the valley of the Buyant Gol River. There are sixteen distinct ethnic groups living in Khovd : The Khalkh, Zakhchin, Torgood, Oeld, Durved, Myangad, Uriankhai, Monchog and Kazakh. Khovd guided city tour and overnight at Buyant Hotel.

DAY 13 KHOVD / ULAANBAATAR (B/-/-)
Transfer to airport for flight back to Ulaanbataar. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Ulaanbaatar.

DAY 14 DEPARTURE (B/-/-)
Transfer to airport for flight home via Moscow or Beijing.

DAY 15 Arrive home.
