DAY 01 Scheduled flights to Yangon

DAY 02 YANGON (-/-/D)
Arrive in Yangon. Meeting with our representative and transfer to Hotel Kandawgyi Palace on the Royal lake. Rest of day is at leisure. Evening welcome dinner at Karaweik Palace restaurant with culture show. Overnight in Yangon.

DAY 03 YANGON (B/L/-)
Full day guided city tour of Yangon colonial city centre including the Golden Valley area, Aung Sang Suu Kyi House ( exterior only ), the National museum and the Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda for the Reclining Buddha. After lunch excursion in downtown Yangon to view the Sule Pagoda, Mahabandoola Park, India town and China town. Optional tea break at the Strand in Yangon ( the first hotel built in Yangon ) before going back to hotel passing by the floating barge on Kandawgyi lake. Late afternoon transfer to the incredibly impressive Buddhist shrine of Shwedagon Pagoda. At sunset its gilded stupa, bathed in the fading rays, takes on a magical glow. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 4 YANGON/MANDALAY – MAYMYO (B/L/-)
Early morning transfer to the airport for flight to Mandalay. On arrival enjoy a 2 hour drive to Maymyo (also known as Pyin Oo Lwin) on a beautiful road bordered by monsoon forests and paddy fields. Pin Oo Lwin used to be a British hill station, similar to Dalat in Vietnam which used to be a French one. The town has preserved many colonial architectural monuments, British brick & timber houses and churches. Visits in Maymyo include Candacraig old building ( 1904 ), Zeygyi market. After lunch enjoy a traditional horse-drawn carriage ride around town near the Clock Tower followed by a leisurely walk in the well manicured Kandawgyi Botanical Garden. Overnight at Pin Oo Lwin Hotel.


Day 5 MAYMYO– AMARAPURA – AVA – SAGAING - MANDALAY (B/L/-)
After breakfast depart by road to Amarapura arriving just in time for the Monk procession in Maha Gana Yone Monastery at lunch time. Then a leisure stroll on the 200 years old U Bein bridge, the longest teak bridge in the world. Continue to Ava town (also known as Innwa ) to see Bagaya and Maha-Aung-Mye-Bonzon monasteries. Experience a horse-cart ride on the country roads before driving across Inwa Bridge to Sagaing, located on the west bank of the Ayreyarwadi. Sagaing, the religious centre of Myanmar, is home to 3000 monks and has over 600 white painted monasteries and pagodas. Explore Kaungmudaw Pagoda, silver workshops and Sagaing Hill Range dotted with pagodas & temples. Return to Mandalay and check in at Mandalay City Hotel.

DAY 06 MANDALAY - MONYWA
After breakfast a Mandalay City tour including the incredible Kuthodaw Stupa known as the World’s biggest Buddhist Book, each page displayed in a separate stupa, the beautifully carved Shwe Nan Daw teak Monastery and Mahamuni pagoda. Drive inside Myanansan Kyaw walled Palace come fortress still being used as military base before continuing by road to Monywa ( 2 hours ) on the eastern bank of Chindwin river. On arrival check-in at Win Unity hotel. After lunch guided visits to main attractions in Monywa include Thambuddhei Paya temple, Boddhi Tataung standing Buddha, the 2nd tallest in the world and local fruit & vegetable farms. Overnight at Win Unity Hotel.

Day 7 MONYWA – PAKOKHU ~ BAGAN (B/L/-)
After breakfast overland transfer to Pakokhu shiptown on the river bank. Lunch before boarding a boat and leisurely cruise on the mighty Irrawaddy to Bagan. On arrival transfer to Thazin Garden Hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Bagan.

DAY 08 BAGAN (B/L/-)
After breakfast, full day guided tour of Bagan, one of the most important archaeological sites in South East Asia. After a visit to Nyaung Oo Market, continue to the Shwezigon Pagoda, Kyansitthar U Min temple, Wet Kyi Inn Gubyaukgyi and Shwegugyi temples. After lunch, see the Archaeological museum and a lacquer ware factory. Then some further exploration of Bagan’s best known pagodas and temples including Mingalazedi Pagoda and Ananda Temple. Late afternoon horse cart ride in Old Bagan through local villages to Shwesandaw Temple for the marvellous sunset view. Overnight in Bagan.

DAY 09 BAGAN ( B/-/-)

A whole free day in Bagan to take in the magnificence of this extraordinary town. Optional sunrise balloon ride over Bagan. Return to your favourite sites or just stroll in the local markets and colourful bazaars or relax at your hotel. You can also take an optional day trip to Mount Popa. Overnight in Bagan.

Day 10 BAGAN/HEHO - INLE (B/L/-)
Morning transfer to the airport for flight to Heho. Drive to Nyaung Shwe through the hazy Shan Mountains, stopping at vineyards and a winery for wine tasting and lunch. Transfer to jetty for a boat ride to Inle Lake, home to the Intha people who live in floating villages along the lakeside. Check in at Amata Resort Inle. Afternoon boat trip on the lake to see the leg-rowing fishermen, the floating vegetable gardens and floating houses. Overnight at Amata Resort.

Day 11 INLE (B/L/-)
Full day excursion by boat to Indein village for a pleasant walk to the Shwe Inn Dain ancient pagoda complex, then continue by boat to a floating silversmith, blacksmith, hand weaving village, tobacco workshop, the Jumping cat monastery and Phaung Dau Oo pagoda. Lunch in a floating restaurant during visits. Overnight in Inle.


Day 12 INLE-HEHO/YANGON – BAGO (B/L/-)
After breakfast boat & car transfer to Heho airport for flight to Yangon. On arrival overland transfer to Bago, 80 km north west of Yangon. After lunch visit the 55m Shwethalyaung Reclining Buddha in the Shwemawdaw Pagoda, one of the most venerated in Myanmar. Overnight at Han Thar Gardens Resort in Bago.

Day 13 BAGO – KHIYATTIYO for the Golden Rock (B/L/-)

After breakfast visit Bago market and the Allied cemetery before departing by road to Khiyattiyo, where you will be transferred by pick-up truck to the base camp. Walk up the hill ( or hire sedan chairs ) to visit the famous Golden Rock. Enjoy the sunset and overnight at Mountain Top hotel. Overnight at Mountain Top Hotel.

Day 14 KHIYATTIYO – YANGON (B/L/-)
After breakfast overland transfer to Yangon. Lunch en route. On arrival check in at Kandawgyi Palace Hotel. Afternoon is at leisure for shopping at the old fashioned oriental Boyoke market also known as Scott market, a paradise for semi precious stone lovers. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 15 DEPARTURE (B/-/-)
Transfer to airport for flight home or beach extension to Ngapali.
