The Maldives, an island nation comprising a group of atolls in the Indian Ocean is located south of India's Lakshadweep islands, and about seven hundred kilometres south-west of Sri Lanka.

The twenty-six ring-like atolls of Maldives encompass a territory featuring 1,192 islets, two hundreds islands of which are inhabited. Each atoll in the Maldives is made of a coral reef encircling a lagoon.

A string of islands take their places among this atoll ring; each island has its own reef encircling the island lagoon. The reefs of the islands, alive with countless types of underwater creatures and vibrant corals make the Maldives an ideal place for diving & snorkelling.

The Maldives has deep blue seas, turquoise reefs, white sandy beaches and palm trees, no wonder why people call it a magical place on earth.
