Day 01: Departure Depart from the UK for your overnight flight to Calcutta.
Day 02: Arrive Calcutta (B/-/D)
Arrive in Calcutta where you will be greeted, transferred to your hotel and assisted with check-in. Clacutta was once said to be the intellectual capital of India, with a rich contemporary cultural life established by the British in 1690. Afternoon guided tour of the major sights of Calcutta. Overnight at The Pride Hotel.
Day 03: Calcutta-Darjeeling via Bagdogra (B/-/D)
This morning take a flight to Bagdogra. On arrival in Bagdogra, you will be transferred (3hrs) to your hotel in Darjeeling for your three night stay. Darjeeling, famous around the world for tea, is also known as the ‘Queen of Hill Stations’. Overnight at Cedar Inn.
Day 04: Darjeeling (B/-/D)
The guided tour will take you to Tiger Hill for spectacular views of the Himalayas and the Kanchenjunga. Also visit Ghoom Monastery, the Zoological Park, Tibetan Refugee Centre and Himalayan Mountaineering Institute.
Day 05: Darjeeling (B/-/D)
Today your guided tour will include a visit to Tukvar Tea Estate, the very first tea estate of Darjeeling established in 1852 followed by a visit to Observatory Hill and Bhutia Basti Monastery.
Day 06: Darjeeling-Pelling (B/-/D)
This morning drive through beautiful countryside to the small hamlet of Pelling (4hrs). En route, you will visit a tea plantation. Stay at Elgin Mt Pandim Resort for two nights.
Day 07: Pelling (B/-/D)
The tour today will take you to the awe-inspiring Pemayangste Monastery, the second oldest of its kind in Sikkim, the sacred Kheopalry Lake and Rabtense Ruins.
Day 08: Pelling-Gangtok (B/-/D)
You will be driven to Sikkim capital city, Gangtok (6hrs). Enroute, you will visit the 18th Tashiding Monastery. Your afternoon is then free to relax at the hotel. Stay at Royal Plaza hotel for two nights.
Day 09: Gangtok (B/-/D)
Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim is situated at a height of 5500 ft. You will be visiting Rumtek Monastery, the seat of the Karmapa Rinpoche; the Enchey Monastery an important seat of the Nyingmapa order; and the Do Drul Chorten and Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, the most prestigious of its kind in India.
Day 10: Gangtok—Kalimpong (B/-/D)
Drive to Kalimpong. Rest of the day is at leisure. Stay at Silver Oaks hotel for two nights.
Day 11: Kalimpong (B/-/D)
The guided tour of Kalimpong will include a visit to the town’s three impressive Buddhist monasteries-Tharpa Choling Monastery, headed by the Dalai Lama; Thongsha Gumpha, a Bhutanese monastery and Zong Dog Palri Fo Brang Monastery.
Day 12: Kalimpong-Calcutta via Bagdogra (B/-/-)
This morning drive to Bagdogra airport (2hrs) to board your flight to Calcutta. On arrival in Calcutta you will be transferred to The Pride hotel for overnight stay. Rest of the day is at leisure to explore Calcutta.
Day 13: Calcutta-London (B)
Transfer to Calcutta airport for your return flight to the UK.
