Day 01 Departure
Fly to Delhi from London or Manchester
Day 02 Delhi (-/-/D)
On arrival in Delhi, meeting with our representative and transfer to Hans Plaza 4*hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Evening welcome dinner at local restaurant. Overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 03 Delhi – Amritsar (B/-/D) 455 kms - 6 hrs train journey - Altitude 218 m
After breakfast, transfer to railway station to board your train for Amritsar. On arrival transfer to your hotel. Afternoon visit Jalianwala Bagh, the memorial for the martyrs of the 1919 massacre by British General Dyer. Baba Atal Rai Tower, the death spot Guru Har Gobind Singh Ji, The Golden Temple (The famous Sikh pilgrim place). Evening sermon in Golden temple. Overnight stay in Amritsar at 5* Radisson Blu Hotel.
Day 04 Amritsar – Dharamshala (B/-/D) 195 kms - 06 hrs drive - Altitude 1250 m
Morning drive to Dharamshala. Today feel the privilege of being in McLeod Ganj, also known as Little Lhasa, at 1770m above sea level. McLeod Ganj the headquarter of the Tibetan Government-in-exile for over three decades and also the residence of His Holiness Dalai Lama. It has an impressive monastery with life size /india/images of Buddha, Padmasambhava and Avaloktwshwara. Evening at leisure to explore the Tibetan market. Dinner and overnight at WelcomHeritage Grace Hotel.
Day 05 Dharamshala (B/-/D)
Morning guided visits to Tsuglag Khang (Dalai Lama's Temple Complex), Tibet Museum , The Norbulingka Institute , Bhagsu Temple & Waterfall , The Tibetan Children’s Village , Brijeshwari Temple, Kangra Fort and local monasteries. Dinner and overnight stay at Grace Hotel.
Day 06 Dharamshala – Shimla (B/-/D) 270 kms - 8 hrs - Altitude 1925 m
Morning overland transfer to Shimla. En route enjoy the most beautiful & picturesque part of Himachal Pradesh with breathtaking mountains & valleys sceneries. On arrival check in at hotel. Leisure stroll on The Mall road and The Ridge Promenade. Dinner & overnight stay at Radisson Jass Hotel.
Day 07 Shimla (B/-/D)
Shimla city tour visiting the Viceregal lodge where the British Raj rules India in the summer months, Indian Institute Of Advanced Studies, Sankat Mochan Temple and Jakhu hill Temple. Evening spend time shopping at the local market in The Mall & The Ridge. Dinner & overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 08 Shimla- Kullu -Manali (B/-/D) 265 Kms - 8 hrs - Altitude 2050 m
After an early breakfast check out from hotel and depart by road to Manali. Check in at hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at 4* Manali Resort.
Day 09 Manali (B/-/D)
Morning sightseeing tour of Manali visiting Hadimba Temple, an old Manali village with a Tibetan monastery and Manali Hot Spring. Dinner & overnight stay in Manali.
Day 10 Manali – Rohtang Pass – Jispa (B/-/D) 115 kms - 6 hrs drive – Altitude 3980 m
Morning drive on a zig-zag road in a 4x4 jeep or Toyota Innova, crossing the Rohtang pass (4000 m above sea level), through small villages like Marhi and Palchan then descending sharply into Lahaul Valley. The landscape changes spectacularly from lush green to stark and barren, typical of an arid high altitude desert. Drive pass Keylong town, the headquarter of Lahaul and Spity Valley. Drive further to Jispa. Dinner & overnight at Jispa Ibex hotel.
Day 11 Jispa – Sarchu (B/L/D) 110 kms - 4 hrs drive – Altitude 4200 m
After leisurely having breakfast continue by road passing the village of Darcha before reaching the height over Zing Zing Bar and further over the Baralachla Pass. Take in the most beautiful and picturesque mountain/ valley high altitude landscapes. Continue to Sarchu. Lunch, dinner and overnight in tented accommodation with attached toilets.
Day 12 Sarchu - Leh (B/-/D) 245 kms - 10 hrs - Altitude 5300 m
The journey continues from Sarchu to Leh through Lachungla Pass [5019 M] and TanglangLa [5360 m ], the second highest motorable pass in the world. En-route enjoy endless Himalayan panorama, mountains peaks, valleys and rivers all in one place. Proceed towards Leh driving along Rupshu plains, the highest inhabited region in the World ( you may have the chance to see rare wildlife like the wild horse (Skyang), Ibex and the magnificent Snow Leopard ) before the long smooth drive to Leh. Dinner & Overnight at 4* Spic & Span Ladakh.
Day 13 Leh ( B/-/D)
After breakfast Leh sightseeings include : Old Fort : Leh Palace was built by King Singge Namgyal in the 17th century in the grand tradition of Tibetan architecture, which is said to have inspired the famous Potala in Lhasa. The Shanti Stupa 3 km from Fort Road, and located on the hilltop at Changspa. There is a very steep set of steps leading to the top but from there Shanti Stupa offers spectacular views at sunrise and sunset. The stupa looks best at night, when it is beautifully illuminated with glittering lights. Skara: A pretty and prosperous suburb of Leh town with a pretty village. From here one can admire the earthen ramparts of Zorawar Singh's fort, now housing army barracks. Dinner and overnight at Spic & Span Hotel.
Day 14 Leh (B/-/D)
After breakfast proceed to Indus Valley. Visit Shey, the ancient capital of Ladakh where the Royal family had their summer Palace with a lake in front of it. Continue by road to Thiksey an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village, Stok Palace & Sindhu Ghat for Sindhu River Darshan. Finally, travel to the most revered and richest monastery of Ladakh, The Hemis. This monastery is nestled between two mountains and has many sacred items of great importance. Evening free. Dinner & overnight at Spic & Span Hotel
Day 15 Leh (B/-/D)
Today drive higher still to the Khardongla pass (5600 m above sea level) on the Nubra Valley highway, the world’s highest motorable pass that has earned its place in the Guinness Book of World Records. During the afternoon visit the 11th century Spituk Monastery. About 125 saffron capped monks are living in this Monastery which stands on a small mountain above the Indus. Last visit is the 17th century Phiyang Monastery where red capped monks & novices are living. This monastery is interesting for its museum containing some old Chinese, Tibetan, Mongolian old weapons and armours. Dinner & overnight at Spic & Span Hotel.
Day 16 Leh/Delhi (B/-/D)
Transfer to Leh airport. Short flight to Delhi and on arrival transfer to your hotel. With of a population of about 15 million Delhi is one of the largest metropolises in the world. Discover its uniqueness by visiting the magnificent Red Fort, the Jama Masjid (India's largest mosque),The Qutab-Minar complex with its high collected tower. Blend in the incredible crowds in the teeming streets of Old Delhi in a Riksha ride around town. Farewell dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Delhi at Hans Plaza Hotel.
