DAY 02 AMRITSAR (-/-/-) visit asia - tours to asia
On arrival, you will be met by our local representative and transferred to your hotel. Amritsar, home to the Golden Temple, is one of the most ancient and fascinating cities of India. It is an important seat of Sikh history and culture. Being the gateway for travellers coming to India on the overland route from central Asia it soon became the centre of various commercial activities. Afternoon visit to the Wagah Border to witness the flag Ceremony closing the border between India and PakHyattn; a patriotic but fun filled ceremony. Overnight in Amritsar at 5* Hyatt Hotel.

Morning guided tour of Amritsar to see the famous Golden Temple, founded by the fourth Guru of Sikhs, Guru Ramdas and completed by his successor Guru Arjan Dev. Then visit Jallian Wallah Bagh, a memorial garden and Durgiana Temple. The afternoon is free to explore Amritsar Market. In the evening, visit the Golden Temple again to view the Palaki Sahib Ceremony. Overnight in Amritsar at Hyatt Hotel.

This morning drive up into the Kangra Valley amidst the foothills to Pragpur (6 Hrs). Home to the famous Kangra School of painting and India's oldest ruling lineage, Pragpur is nestled in the Kangra valley surrounded by the imposing Dhauladhar range. The core area of Pragpur is notified as a "Heritage Village", and, along with the nearby village of Garli, the surrounding area is a Hertitage Zone. Afternoon stroll through the village and visit the 300 year old ancestral home of the Kuthiala Soods. Overnight in Pragpur at The Judge’s Court.

DAY 05 PRAGPUR (B/-/-)
Morning sightseeing of Siba Temple with its treasure of Kangra Paintings and murals on the Inner walls. Afternoon at leisure to relax at the hotel or visit the famous Shaktipeeths Jawalamukhi Temple where a holy Eternal Flame is perpetually kept alight and worshipped. This is a famous temple of Goddess Jwalamukhi, the deity of flaming mouth, believed to be the manifestation of the Goddess Sati. Overnight in Pragpur at The Judge’s Court.

Drive to Dharamsala (2 Hrs), home to his holiness, the Daliai Lama. En route visit Kangra Fort, Brajeshwari temple and the colourful Kangra Market. Evening 30min guided walk around the temple seeing monks and nuns praying and chanting mantras. Overnight in Dharamsala at White Heaven.

Guided tour of Dharamsala includes Gompas, the Tibet Museum and the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives. In the afternoon visit the Norbulungka institute where wood & metal craft, silk weaving and thangka paintings are kept alive. Overnight in Dharamsala at White Heaven.

Drive to Taragarh (2 Hrs), visiting the artist village at Andreta en route. On arrival, visit the Vaidyanath temple at Baijnath, the jewellery shops at Paprola and the Tashgarh Monastery. Overnight at Taragarh Palace.

Early morning drive to Shimla (8 Hrs). Sit back and admire the spectacular scenery stopping en route at Mandi, renowned for its 81 old stone temples, enormous range of fine carvings, old palaces and notable examples of ‘colonial’ architecture; before continuing on to Shimla. Overnight in Shimla at 5* Radisson Jass Shimla hotel.

DAY 10 SHIMLA (B/-/-)
Enjoy a guided tour of Shimla visiting the Viceregal Lodge, where the British Raj ruled India in the summer months and where the partition of India was planned. Later take a leisurely stroll back along the Mall to Scandal Point. Overnight in Shimla at Radisson Jass hotel.

DAY 11 SHIMLA (B/-/-)
Day at leisure to enjoy the views, explore on your own, or take optional tours to Chail, Kufri or Fagu. Overnight in Shimla at Radisson Jass hotel.

Morning toy train ride from Shimla to Solan where you will be met and transferred by road to Barog, and then taken to Kalka Railway station for your evening train journey to Delhi (17:45-21:55, a/c chair car). On arrival you will be met and transferred to 5* The Grand hotel for overnight.

DAY 13 DELHI (B/-/-)
After breakfast, guided visits in Old Delhi : the magnificent 17th century Red Fort and Rajghat, Mahatma Gandhi memorial. Proceed to New Delhi’s Capital Complex for the Rashtrapati Bhawan Parliament House, once the British viceroy’s home, now the residence of Indian President; Rajpath ceremonial causeway, and the India Gate war memorial where lies Humayun’s Tomb, mausoleum of the 2nd Great Mughal said to be the forerunner of the Taj Mahal. Moving on to the Qutub Complex to see the 12th century Quwat-ul-Islam Mosque, and Qutub Minar, the tallest structure in Delhi for centuries. Overnight in Delhi.

Morning transfer to Delhi Airport for your flight home.
